Little Things You Should Know About the New Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.5

Monster Power must be enabled.

  • Options > Gameplay > Bottom right option under “Interface”
  • Once enabled, you will choose the MP level when picking your starting quest.

Leave your group, retain your stacks

  • If you play in a group, you can now leave the game for a short time and keep your NV stacks. I want to say 5 minutes. As long as someone from your party keeps the game “active”, you can rejoin. This is amazing for posting a fast auction, losing connection, etc.
  • When you disconnect from a game and want to go solo, be sure to right click your character and choose “leave party”. Or else you’ll just keep joining the same game.

Watch Tower has been moved.

  • “The Watch Tower spawn has been moved from the Northern Highlands to the Southern Highlands”
  • The Watch Tower has also been changed. It now has a full size first floor and it seems like the number of elites has been lowered

Easily search for similar items on the auction house

  • When inside the auction house, right click the item you want to sell and choose the find similar option. This will preload your stats into the search fields for you.

Stay tuned for more new features!

Diablo 3 – Infernal Machine How to & Video Walkthrough Guide

Here is how to find the keys and craft the infernal machine!

Key 1 is Found on Goat Mutant Key Warden in the Fields of Misery (Act 1)
Key 2 is Found on Dune Derzvish Key Warden in Dahlgur Oasis (Act 2)
Key 3 is Found on Morlu Spell caster Key Warden in Stone fort (Act 3)
Infernal Machine Plan – Found on Terror Demon Key Warden in Silver Spire level 1 (Act 4)

All of the Key Wardens will always spawn in every Inferno game.
You must have a 5 stack of Nephalem Valor for the drops to even have a chance of dropping.
If you do it on monster level 10 with your 5 stacks, you are guaranteed the drop.
It does not drop every time, and if it doesn’t drop, you need to restart the quest.

Here is how to use the Infernal Machine
Once you’ve created the machine, you must activate the portal to enter the three realms that contain the Uber Bosses.

The machine needs to be activated in the Heretic’s Abode found in New Tristram.
In order to enter the Heretic’s Abode, you need to be on the last quest in Act 1.
The portal will open up one of the three locations randomly.
The Realm of Discord – King Leoric and Mahgda.
The Realm of Turmoil – Siege Breaker and Zoltun Kulle.
The Realm of Chaos – Ghom and Raknoth.
The machine only works to open a portal one time.
A new machine will need to be crafted each time to open another portal.
The portal remains open until the bosses are defeated or you leave game.
The Vengeful Eye, Devil’s Fang, and Writhing Spine, needed to craft the Hellfire Rings, are not guaranteed drops.

Here is a video, not created by myself, that shows visually how each step goes to craft the Infernal machine – Enjoy.

Main Changes for Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.5 – What to Look forward to in D3?

Sup Nerds! Here are some cool changes coming to the next Diablo Patch – 1.0.5

1. INFERNAL MACHINE! – The infernal machine is a crafting recipe much like uber Tristam in Diablo 2.  You farm the parts(and the pattern once) and then craft the item.  You then can go kill the boss and he will drop a special legendary ring! Puzzle ring! I will have walk through on this soon, step by step in detail.

2. Monster Power! – Monster power now lets you choose how hard you want your monsters to be.  Monster power ZERO is actually -25% of the current monsters health, and then it scales up VERY high from 1-10.  The main thing is health increase, so a normal 30 second rare to kill in act 3 on monster power level 0, will now take lets say 5x as long on monster power 5+ (example).   In addition to the increases health and slight damage increase, once you go to monster power level 1, all monsters are ilvl 63(same as act 3).  So you can actually choose to farm any act and your result will be the same.  You also gain increased magic find and gold find the high you increase the monster power level.  You can find more information about this from the Monster Power chart that is listed on the site, if you are unable to find it just search for monster power at the top search box.

3. Legendary and Set items will have their drop rate doubled in relation to the drop rate now.

4. Inferno monsters are taking another Nerf.  I personally am happy for this, but in all reality it isn’t a huge Nerf because you can use monster power levels to make it hard than it was originally.

That is about all of the major changes.  I am not going to list the class changes as this isn’t a full 1.0.5 patch notes post.  If you are wondering when 1.0.5 will be released, I would put my money on it coming out this Tuesday, or the next!
