Boot Danger’s Personal Likes & Dislikes in Diablo 3

So I have been playing Diablo 3 since it released a few months ago. I have two level 60 characters with over 400 hours played total. I played Diablo 2 for over ten years, and have thousands of hours played on it. I consider myself a pretty knowledgeable player when it comes to the franchise.

Here are the things I do enjoy about Diablo 3

1. Graphics – I like the graphics, they are an improvement upon classic D2, which one would hope would be the case. Although don’t think I wouldn’t trade graphics and cut scenes for better game play anyway.
2.Skills – The skill system is great, it does take a slightly kick to the longevity of the game compared to D2, but it is nice to just pick any skills and try new things. I can remember so many times on Diablo 2 that I accidentally put too many points into strength, and would have to remake my character.
3. Loot – I am semi-happy about the loot system, but also unhappy. I currently do Act 1 magic find runs on my wizard, and I enjoy it, but rarely, 3-4 months into the game, do I find something worth a decent amount of gold. I do think this should be improved.

Things I think could use Improvement in Diablo 3.

1. Loot – This is two parts. We need more loot choices. Like how Legendary items have other stat choices than rares, we need either better legendaries or yellows to receive more diversity in stats. The game honestly, stat on item wise, is like wow. You start with 100 int 20 vit 10 mf gloves > upgrade to 150 int 50 vit 15 mf gloves. There is some diversity to this statement but if you looked at D2’s items compared to this you would understand.
a. Loot part 2 – Better loot needs to drop. Honestly Diablo 2 was great because of the loot, and that is what kept people around for the most part. I understand why Diablo 3’s loot system is like it is, because of the Auction House more people will show off and sell their loot as compared to Diablo 3.
2. Inferno Act 2/3/4 Difficulty – Honestly this isn’t a huge deal to me, act 1 is the perfect balance of challenge I feel. In act 2 I honestly get slaughtered, I can get through it if I really wanted, but every time I’ve tried I rage quit 30 minutes later. My wizard has 33k life, 45k dmg, 400 all resits, and 20% crit and 190% crit dmg. These are pretty decent stats I think. I am not a bad player, not amazing, but I am a veteran gamer of everything. A slight tweak I feel would improve the game more than hurt it.

So these are a few things I like and dislike about D3, it didn’t grab my attention like Diablo 2 did back in the day, but I can’t complain as I’ve paid the game off using the RMAH and have so many hours invested. One thing to remember is that it is still a new game, and I do believe Blizzard will eventually tweak many many things, but only time will tell. Until then, play it, if you get tired of it, take a break, and come back later!

Boot Danger’s Wizard Guide for Diablo 3 – Updated for Patch 1.0.3

Since the 1.0.3 patch many people have been complaining about their DPS being nerfed. Well yes, this is the case, but the fact of the matter is everyone got nerfed, along with the monsters of Inferno!  Many people have it worse than us Wizards, so stop the QQ and just adapt.  I am personally glad at the fact we now have more gearing options, and an all-around set, as opposed to a full glass cannon set, is much more appealing.

Here are some basic tips which need to be covered since the patch.

  1. IAS got nerfed.  It is still a good and much needed stat! Before you could grab two 50,000 gold rings from the auction house and increase your DPS by 25-50% – not as intended! Each IAS item (rings x 2 and gloves will do) are still critical in a good all-around DPS/Defensive build and help the attack animation greatly.
  2. Repairs/dying/farming locations! – Take advantage of the new drop tables.  The 1.0.3 patch has punished the zerging and glass cannon builds by increasing repair costs.  If you are dying too much in act 2/3/4, just do inferno act 1 runs until your gear can keep you alive more often in the higher acts.
  3. Making Money in 1.0.3 – Quick fact – easy way to make money from 1.0.3 is to just get mats from the blues that drop and sell them on the auction house for a good chunk of change.  They sell well.  You can also craft but obviously it is a gamble and not something you may want to take a chance on when you still need tons of gear to pwn the nub mobs.

What are the primary stats needed on a wizard since 1.0.3 to clear inferno?

Gearing is difficult to figure out, but prioritize Intelligence / vitality / crit / crit dmg / IAS (on rings x 2 and gloves) % Life is good when you can find it but not a necessity.

EXAMPLE OF GOOD WIZARD GEAR TO CLEAR INFERNO!  – http://i.imgur.com/ybHMP.jpg

You can use the above gear to relate to, it is gear from a player who has cleared inferno and has over 70k dps, 40k+ life and 1k resists, which is a good all-around gear set.

What Mercenary to use? I currently use the scoundrel, as I use a cold damage bow and it’s great for my play style of kiting as it slows all enemies hit, plus gives me critical hit chance.

What is the best wizard build for Inferno? The game is dynamic, and there are many good builds, but there is a few which I personally enjoy and work good for myself, and others as I have seen through research.

Build – http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#acRSOQ!YXd!cYbZYY

Build /w Electrocute – http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UcRSOQ!YXd!bYbZYY

Reasoning – This is basically the build I use for act1/2/3 farming and progressing.  I like it because it fits my play style and I’ve come to love teleport, especially when it comes to “waller” and “fast” monster affixes.  The Magic missiles can be subbed out for electrocute with the piercing rune, I use both, electrocute is faster for act 1 I think.   The arcane orb is super sweet for clearing groups of minions, usually 1-3 arcane orbs and the entire group is blow to smithereens.

That’s all I have for now.  The biggest thing is finding your own comfortable play style,  I enjoy kiting, but It’s totally possible with enough life/dmg/resits to tank a lot of hits from monsters and not have to kite as much.  To each their own, but the gear example at the top should direct you in the right path to know what good gear to shoot for if you want to beat the entire game, in Inferno mode.

One last thing – The difference between stats is very small when playing the auction house.  A million + gold item is only 25-50 stats better than a 50k item.  Take time to learn the market and you will be able to tell what gear is worth what.

Hope this guide was semi-useful, feel free to comment and let me know what’s up or what build works good for you.

How to escape ELO Hell in League of Legends Easily

First off, you have to be somewhat lucky to get out of elo hell. For example, you can’t have a boots of mobility champion with 12 farm after 25 minuets in your team, that champion, be it wukong, or miss fortune, is gotta be in the enemy team cause people like that are not possible to carry.

I have ended up with some many people that trolled and just fed intentionally but now ive finally made it out of elo hell. I have duo ques a lot but it always seem to go bad when me and my friend were playing, we always get the retards on our team and despite the fact that we win our bot lane all the time, we endup loosing the game.

So what i did was that i started playing top lane, as Lee sin mainly. Lee is probably the best champion around lvl 2-3 and you can get first blood really easy, specially when you have ignite. And since theirs facts that when a teams solo top gets first blood the chance of winning is 88%. Lets say you get an early kill or even first blood, you will rule the lane so hard that you can go down and grab dragons, gank lanes, counter jungle and pretty much do whatever you want while snowballing like crazy.

Dragons is a very easy way to win and always remember to time them so you can stand there ready to pick them up again. (6 min cool down on it, Baron is 7 min). If you counter jungle and take their red for example time that one as well (5 mins).

Ofc you don’t have to play lee sin, its just a good choice IMO. But solo top is defiantly the way to carry your team out of elo hell.

Always remember to talk a lot and to stay positive, tell people what to do and remember to be selfish, try taking all the kills you can get cause you never know if your AD carry for example that would have gotten the kill is a complete idiot that cant even use the gold properly and buys a Tiamat or something like that.

Some games you cant win just cause theirs to many trolls, but if you win your top lane grueling you will be able to help the others in the team 80% of the games to actully win. ‘

Loosing your lane will happened sometimes ofc, after you loose, think to think about what made you loose your lane and change the problem.

If you have some other thought about getting out of elo hell please post them to help the poor people trying to get out.
