After some research and monitoring the forums and other websites, I believe the next D3 patch, 1.0.5 will be out this upcoming Tuesday or the following. I cannot wait for this to be out, so many good changes! Cross your fingers!
Sup Nerds! Here are some cool changes coming to the next Diablo Patch – 1.0.5
1. INFERNAL MACHINE! – The infernal machine is a crafting recipe much like uber Tristam in Diablo 2. You farm the parts(and the pattern once) and then craft the item. You then can go kill the boss and he will drop a special legendary ring! Puzzle ring! I will have walk through on this soon, step by step in detail.
2. Monster Power! – Monster power now lets you choose how hard you want your monsters to be. Monster power ZERO is actually -25% of the current monsters health, and then it scales up VERY high from 1-10. The main thing is health increase, so a normal 30 second rare to kill in act 3 on monster power level 0, will now take lets say 5x as long on monster power 5+ (example). In addition to the increases health and slight damage increase, once you go to monster power level 1, all monsters are ilvl 63(same as act 3). So you can actually choose to farm any act and your result will be the same. You also gain increased magic find and gold find the high you increase the monster power level. You can find more information about this from the Monster Power chart that is listed on the site, if you are unable to find it just search for monster power at the top search box.
3. Legendary and Set items will have their drop rate doubled in relation to the drop rate now.
4. Inferno monsters are taking another Nerf. I personally am happy for this, but in all reality it isn’t a huge Nerf because you can use monster power levels to make it hard than it was originally.
That is about all of the major changes. I am not going to list the class changes as this isn’t a full 1.0.5 patch notes post. If you are wondering when 1.0.5 will be released, I would put my money on it coming out this Tuesday, or the next!
There is a new feature out on the Diablo 3 PTR called monster power.
You basically can choose to make the monster more powerful, and with this choice, you also gain some rewards like more magic find and experience points.
Here is a useful chart with how the monsters in D3 scale from MP level 1-10.
Here is an awesome and helpful list of the most used (top 25) legendary and set items most used by the Barbarian Class. You may at first think this is actually a list of the most expensive and bad ass items, but if you really think about it, these are just hte most popular items, and because they are o popular many of them arn’t going to be crazy break the bank expensive.
Enjoy and hope it can help a bit!

The One and Only – Alkaizer’s Act 3 Inferno Paragon Experience Farming Route
Hello friends and fellow nerds! If you are looking for a good route for power-leveling paragon levels, and getting the most XP point per hour, well I’ve got what you need!
** Here is Alkaizer’s Act 3 Inferno Farming Route for 50 Mil XP Per Hour **
Start at the heart of sin check point at the core of arreat (clear core of arreat and exit before entering Azmodan fight) work backwards towards the checkpoint.
Tower of the Damned Level 1 (Run a circle back to the WP)
Arreat Crater Level 2 (Teleport to town)
Bridge of Korsaik (Run a circle around the battle field)
Keeps depth level 2 (use the level 1 WP)
Most Efficient Diablo 3 Paragon Experience Route for Inferno
Hey nerdz, if you are still playing D3 you may have heard of someone already hitting max level of 100 paragon in diablo 3. His name is Alkaizer, and he is the first level 100 paragon for his class, which is a WW barbarian and the world. He was streaming his runs for a while on the way to level 100 and here is his run.
With a good geared player, you can earn up to 50 million XP per hour and get about 10 million XP points per run. Each run takes Akaizer about 15 minutes.
The Alk Run:
Start at the heart of sin check point at the core of arreat (clear core of arreat and exit before entering Azmodan fight) work backwards towards the checkpoint.
Tower of the Damned Level 1. (Run a circle back to the WP)
Arreat Crater Level 2. (Teleport to town)
Bridge of Korsaik. (Run a circle around the battlefield)
Keeps depth level 2 (use the level 1 WP)
Most any semi-geared player can finish the run in under 15 minutes with an exp yield of anywhere from 7m-10m /run depending on gear. It is twice as efficient as A3 clears.
As a decently geared WW barb, the alk run takes 10 minutes averages around 13 elites and 200k gold(P54) and yields 50M/hr exp anywhere from 5-10 63 loot. It is by far the most efficient run by a long shot.
Diablo 3 is a dungeon hack and slash game, but it is also a game about trading. I believe one of the greatest things people loved about D2 was the trading. It was basically two games in one, a trading game, and then you tested out your items in PvP and PvM. Well Diablo 3 is still a game of items and trading, but with the introduction of the auction house it has been more difficult the longer the game goes on to sell anything. It seems as if most items either don’t sell, or sell for a million or more. Players standards have gone up from release, most people have pretty good gear, so, ‘pretty good gear’ isn’t really in demand anymore.
Here are some tips and what not for learning how to find a niche and just make some bank in the auction house of Diablo 3.
You take your item, and you look at its most desirable stats. Then you search the auction house for items with similar stats.
- Think like a buyer. No one searches for shoulder with strength, cold resist, pickup radius, and bonus health globe healing- lol. They search for [primary state], vitality, all resists, and sometimes MF.
- You have to price your items competitively or it won’t sell.
- The more you know about the game, the better you can play the Auction House. For example, shoulders can have up to 300 strength and up to 200 of any other stat. If you didn’t know that, you might think a pair of shoulders with 150 str / 150 vit was worth about the same as a pair with 150 dex / 150 vit.
- Off-hand weapons with very high life on hit (LOH), critical hit damage, and a socket are worth a fortune even with 200 DPS. This is because of how whirl wind (ww) barbs work. The items are quite rare, but if you didn’t know that you wouldn’t ever save a 200 dps dagger.
- Even if you aren’t good at eyeballing price, every item you find can be priced by comparing it to the cheapest comparable alternatives on the AH. There has been so much gear generated that only the top notch gear is valuable.
Also, something else I’ve learned firsthand. If you are trying to play the auction house, try searching for items for the class you know the best. This way you know what people are searching for, what would be an upgrade for you, and if you have been trying to upgrade your character much you should already know most of the good deals and steals which you can grab fast and flip for a few gold or a few RMAH dollars.
Currently there are a few things to note while grinding out paragon levels on your Diablo 3 character. It really comes down to magic finding and getting NV (Neph Valor) stacks. The Arreat Crater different levels are very good for XP PER HOUR in act 3. Stygian Crawler are in many numbers there, up to 30 in one small pack, easy AOE experience.
I personally can’t farm act 3 yet, but the XP is about 2.5x that of act 1. Here is a small chart of XP per different type of minion in acts 1, 2, and 3.
- 2156 XP – Plague Carrier
- 2300 XP – Skeleton
- 2875 XP – Risen, Walking Corpse, Ravenous Dead, Blood Clan Warrior
- 3594 XP – Servant of Jondar, Hungry Corpse, Highland Walker
- 5750 XP – Savage Beast
Butcher gave around 57.000 XP.
- 3600 XP – Betrayed, Sand Wasp, Dune Thresher, Fallen, Cultist, Fallen Peon, Writhing Deceiver, Accursed, Vile Swarm
- 3960 XP – Serpent Magus
- 4500 XP – Fallen Master
- 5400 XP – Lacuni Slasher, Pain Monger
The entire Belial encounter earned about 111.000 XP. Kulle encounter was 54.000 XP.
- 3375 XP – Demon Trooper, Fallen Mongrel, Dark Skeletal Bowman, Skeletal Marauder, Icy Quillback
- 4500 XP – Fallen Prophet, Fallen Grunt, Soul Ripper, Swift Skull Cleaver, Blood Clan Warrior, Blood Clan Spearman, Reviled, Fallen Soldier, Stygian Crawler, Succubus, Blazing Ghoul, Tormented Stinger, Phasebeast, Winged Molok
- 5625 XP – Fallen Overlord
- 6750 XP – Herald of Pestilence, Demonic Tremor
- 11250 XP – Bloated Malachor
BOSS XP – Act 3:
- Winged Molok 4500 XP
- Demonic Serpent 6750 XP
- Blood Clan Occultist 4500 XP
- Each Champion gives 3x XP. The main guy (yellow) from rare pack gives 3x XP
- Ghom 90,000 XP (the 2 little adds don’t give XP)
- Siegebreaker 4500 XP (LOL WTF)
- Cydaea 112,500 XP (little spiders don’t give XP)
- Azmodan (no adds) 90,000 XP
- Diablo 22,500 XP, each Shadow clone 4500 XP.
So as you can see act 3 is where it is at for leveling, if you can manage to kill things with decent speed, or else you are better just farming act 1 for the XP side of things. Hope this article can help you improve your pwn! Please feel free to comment with anything left out or that you would want to add.

Are you wondering how long to hit max paragon levels In d3?
After doing some math, it will take anywhere from 1300 to 1400 hours of playing, with a good average of xp per hour, to hit max level of 100 in diablo 3 with the paragon system. The total XP required to go from 1-100 is 10,454,400,000. That is a lot of XP. I don’t think this is a bad thing though, for anyone who has ever played diablo 2 for a decent amount of time, you know that it was very difficult to get to level 99. Levels 90-100 took a long long time, even doing non-stop Baal runs.
I think the game needed this change, among other things that patch 1.0.4 included. Everyone wants to feel like they are working towards something, and not just shooting from the hip waiting for the one good item. This will give everyone a long term goal, and a sense of accomplishment every time you log off your character.
